Timber Options

UK Grown Larch (price on application):
Locally sourced from Hereford, this is a great sustainable option from both an ecological and economic perspective. UK Larch is a moderately durable soft wood that is very resinous and naturally resistant to rot and decay meaning there is no need for pressure treatment. Larch is reddish brown in colour and will silver naturally over time. Some movement in the wood should be expected with seasonal changes.

FSC Certified Redwood:
Imported from Scandinavian countries, this timber is a common option for timber gates. Redwood is a stable timber however, it will need to be protected with some form of treatment. A permeable/breathable wood treatment or paint is recommended as this will allow the timber to breathe. Sealing with varnish is not advised as this can trap moisture in the wood causing it to rot from the inside. Redwood gates are supplied untreated.

Wood Protection, Care & Maintenance

Gates made from Redwood will need to be protected prior to being installed. We recommend the following products to achieve a high quality, low maintenance finish that will protect your gate for years to come.
